Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks, Connecticut, has a new acting administrator. Former administrator of Bradley International Airport Stephen E. Korta II will return as the airport's administrator until the state finds a permanent replacement. Last year, Korta was appointed the state's transportation aviation administrator. Current acting administrator Barry J. Pallanck will step down and take on the role of assistant airport administrator for five smaller state-run airports. Gov. M. Jodi Rell said that the airport needs a visionary leader to augment its already outstanding reputation for marketing and customer service.
New administrator for NY office for fire prevention and control
Gov. Eliot Spitzer announced the appointment of Rochester Fire Chief Floyd Madison as the New York state fire administrator. Madison will now head the state's Office for Fire Prevention and Control. Madison, who has been with the Rochester Fire Department since 1999, previously served the Washington, DC, Fire and EMS Department for 19 years. As fire administrator, he will receive an annual salary of $105,000. Madison is member of the board of directors of the Finger Lakes Regional Burn Association, as well as his local chapters of the American Heart Association and the American Red Cross. The United Church Ministry, Inc. honored him as the Fireman of the Year in 2002.
Former administrator joins College of St. Joseph as VP of external affairs
Former administrator of Vermont Higher Education Council Susan Englese has joined the College of St. Joseph as vice president of external affairs. Englese will manage work pertaining to admissions, communications, and development. She has served as the higher education council's executive director for 19 years and has been on St. Joseph's board of trustees for more than three years. Englese has also served as chair of the school's planning committee, development committee, and most recently was chair of the trustees. She has a graduate degree in library science from the University of Arizona.
