With the woes of the economy and unemployment reaching distressing levels in the last several months, times are tough and there seems to be no bright light at the end of the tunnel. Searching for a job can be one of the most frustrating things a person can do, and sometimes the search can be so tough you just want to quit. Quitting would be the easy way out, but if you continue searching and do not stop, you will find the right job for you, one that meets all your needs. One of the most important keys to a successful job hunt is staying positive — if you been rejected 100 times, apply for the 101st time. There is also a possibility that you will have to relocate for a job. If this happens, be sure to research everything there is to know about your new city. If you have kids, learn what type of schools are there, what houses and apartments are affordable for you, whether there are any recreational parks, and so on.

Human resources administrator and executive administrator positions are very common in businesses, and the qualifications/skills required for these jobs vary depending on the nature of the business in question. Companies want the best and brightest to work for them, so competition for HR administrator and executive administrator jobs can be high.

But what are a human resources administrator and an executive administrator, exactly?

First, ''HR administrator'' is a general term most companies use to describe someone whose duties are to aid fellow employees in work performance, training programs, and morale, trying, in effect, to enhance the overall performance of the company's workers. Working with people is an extremely important aspect of an HR administrator position. Also, an HR administrator may interview new applicants and handle employee benefits. These administrators have a sense of the work environment in the office and make sure that everyone is being productive in the best way possible. It is very difficult for upper management to be aware of how good performance and morale is in an office, and this is where the HR administrator comes in. If the company is fairly large, a human resources administrator will be a vital part of its success. Many HR administrators start out in an internship while still in school.

The salary of an HR administrator depends on a number of factors including one's level of experience, the company's size, its location, and one's qualifications/skills. The average salary for an HR administrator is around $55,000 per year. Higher level human resources administrators can make upwards of $140,000. Most companies offer good pay to start with room for advancement to earn more.

An executive administrator position is an upper level management position that is responsible for overseeing multiple department managers who handle a specific department of the company. ''Executive administrator'' is a general term for other more specific types of administrators such as school superintendents, vice presidents, and others. One of the major jobs of the executive administrator is making sure that policies and procedures are carried out and followed by lower level management. An executive administrator must be aware of any problems or concerns the HR administrator is having and if he or she is performing the job successfully. An executive administrator can also be a member of a board of directors, depending on the size of the company. This board of directors ensures that the policies of the entire company are being followed on a daily basis.

Since executive administrators can manage many other employees, the productivity and overall performance or these departments they manage can greatly affect their jobs as well. Their basic job is to bring out the absolute best in their workers, and failing departments can result in executive administrators being reprimanded or even terminated. If an HR administrator has poorly performing workers, it is the job of the executive administrator to understand why this occurring and resolve the problem. This is a very stressful job that requires some to work weekends and nights in order to be able to run an administration effectively. While executives have the big offices and tremendous views, there is a lot of hard work that they have to put in.

The education required for an executive administrator position is a bachelor's degree in business. While in a company, the educational process continues, with additional training programs allowing one to learn about new policies and procedures.

The average salary for an executive administrator is around $75,000 per year and can range up to $150,000. These are very difficult jobs that require many hours and much dedication, so the benefits of being an executive administrator are typically vast.
