Legal Document Assistant:
**MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. is looking for an individual with interest in a supportive role. Previous law firm experience would be helpful. The qualified candidate must be detail-oriented, organized and have the ability to switch gears quickly. This position requires strong customer service and communication skills. Follow through is essential. The position also requires the ability to prioritize, complete multiple tasks and to make timely decisions. Candidates must be able to work both independently and as a team member.
Essential Duties will Include:
Collect medical records and billing statements
Gather, compile and organize client data
Correspondence with various parties
Coordinate and mailing of documents
Insurance correspondence and billing
Telephone conference scheduling
FOIA and public records requests
Additional research and requests as needed
Trust deposits and processing payments
Reimbursement forms
Calendaring/docketing
Open new matters and run conflicts
Correspondence with opposing counsel
Knowledge/Experience:
Should possess working knowledge of general office procedures. Prior experience supporting multiple attorneys is preferred.
Skills:
Computer skills utilizing a variety of software programs including, but not limited to, MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, Kofax PowerPDF or Adobe Acrobat, and iManage or other document management system. Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills, including grammar, spelling and punctuation. Strong phone etiquette, attention to detail and follow-through skills are required. Must be highly organized and able to successfully multi-task and meet set deadlines. Strong customer service, ability to be flexible and work effectively as part of a team is required.
Hours are 8:30 am – 5:00 pm. Some overtime hours may be necessary. Salary DOE. The firm offers comprehensive benefits.
