\u003cp\u003e\u0026bull; Provides patient services not requiring the need of a provider, according to established protocols.\u003c/p\u003e
\u003cp\u003e\u0026bull; Assists providers with patient care in a professional manner:\u003c/p\u003e
\u003cp\u003eo Assists providers with patient follow-up.\u003c/p\u003e
\u003cp\u003eo Schedules/Reschedules follow up patient appointments.\u003c/p\u003e
\u003cp\u003eo Documents patient vital signs, medications, interventions (tobacco use, screen for drug use, LMP, immunizations, etc.) and allergies during each visit in medical record.\u003c/p\u003e
\u003cp\u003eo Anticipates provider needs, in house/outside labs, and prep patient according to the visit type.\u003c/p\u003e
\u003cp\u003eo Provides follow up and patient education services to patients.\u003c/p\u003e
\u003cp\u003eo Completes tasks related to patient visit as necessary such as documentation required for the Cancer Screening Program, scheduling, imaging studies, and other tasks as needed.\u003c/p\u003e
\u003cp\u003eo Assures stocking and exam room set up is completed prior to each visit and cleaned up after each visit. Washes instruments and cleans room after last session.\u003c/p\u003e
\u003cp\u003eo Opening and closing lab, including autoclaving and packaging of instrument.\u003c/p\u003e
\u003cp\u003e\u0026bull; Assists with orientation and training of new medical assistants.\u003c/p\u003e
\u003cp\u003e\u0026bull; Prepares appropriate set up for procedures according to established protocol and may assist as requested by the provider.\u003c/p\u003e
\u003cp\u003e\u0026bull; Inventory instruments on a regular basis.\u003c/p\u003e
\u003cp\u003e\u0026bull; Assists other teams when needed to assure appropriate MA coverage.\u003c/p\u003e
\u003cp\u003e\u0026bull; Request support from professional staff when required\u003c/p\u003e
\u003cp\u003e\u0026bull; Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span.\u003c/p\u003e
\u003cp\u003e\u0026bull; Knowledgeable regarding immunizations as recommended by the CDC as well as administration techniques for pediatric through adult patients.\u003c/p\u003e
\u003cp\u003e\u0026bull; Completes and passes an annual competency assessment including age-specific criteria.\u003c/p\u003e

\u003cp\u003eo Disciplines staff when safety policies are violated.\u003c/p\u003e

\u003cp\u003e1. High school diploma or GED.\u003c/p\u003e
\u003cp\u003e2. Graduate from medical assistant school required.\u003c/p\u003e
\u003cp\u003e3. Medical Assistant Certification preferred.\u003c/p\u003e
\u003cp\u003e4. One year experience in a medical facility preferred.\u003c/p\u003e
