Job Summary
Responsible for providing support and assistance to patent litigation attorneys in the form of correspondence with internal personnel and outside attorneys, tracking correspondence and docketing of relevant documents for patent litigation matters, and performing related administrative work. Applies knowledge of patent litigation concepts to process assigned responsibilities. Reports to senior patent litigation attorneys.
Job Description
Core Responsibilities
Provide paralegal and administrative support to attorneys specializing in patent litigation
Correspond with outside counsel and their billing departments
Coordinate with employee witnesses and custodians
Maintain patent litigation dockets and litigation holds
Maintain litigation calendar and track deadlines
Maintain active litigation roster, expert witness database, mediator database, and other relevant databases
Process incoming and outgoing correspondence
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned, including occasional overflow paralegal support to balance team workload
Qualifications:
3-5 years of related paralegal experience in a corporate or law firm environment preferred
Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent; Paralegal Certification preferred
Previous paralegal or administrative experience in a patent litigation or prosecution department is highly desired
Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
Previous legal documentation database experience
Well-developed tracking/record-keeping, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Excellent organization, communication, and time management skills
Ability to collaborate with others and work independently
