Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt, a leading Pacific Northwest law firm, is seeking a Human Resources Assistant to join our team. Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, this individual will perform a variety of administrative tasks. The role will focus mainly on administration related to: benefits, onboarding & orientation, reporting, record keeping and ADP. This role will provide growth opportunity to learn and take on additional Human Resources responsibilities.
Essential duties and responsibilities include:
HRIS entry, reporting, and administrative support using ADP
New employee orientation, scheduling, and administration
Assist with benefits administration; including enrollment, monthly invoicing, and vendor management
Administer and maintain job postings and recruiting files for all staff recruiting
Assist in recruiting of staff positions; resume review, phone screening, scheduling interviews and conducting reference checks
Track employee performance review and compensation processes
Administer anniversary gift program
Manage Human Resources page of company intranet
Respond to verification of employment requests
HR filing and maintaining personnel files
Monitor and manage HR inbox
Assist in payroll preparation as needed including assisting with staff time keeping system
Conduct monthly audit of payroll and provide back-up to the Payroll Specialist
Administer transit benefits for the Seattle office
Other HR projects and duties as assigned, including working with the CHRO on projects and firm initiatives
Work occasionally requires more than 40 hours per week to perform the essential duties of the position
Competencies:
Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with a diverse group of attorneys and staff and provide information with courtesy and tact, while safeguarding confidentiality.
Strong skills in business writing and documentation.
Must demonstrate high-level listening skills.
Ability to organize, anticipate, and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints.
Excellent organizational and analytical skills; must have the ability to retain and manage a high level of detail.
Ability to be efficient, a self-starter, articulate, creative, open-minded and achievement oriented.
Required education and/or experience:
Bachelor's Degree in HR or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
2 years’ experience of administrative duties in a professional services setting.
Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat.
Experience using ADP is preferred.
