Job Description Summary
The Activity Coordinator Assistant ensures the day-to-day operation of an Activity Center focused on patients that are 65 years old . In addition, they plan, communicate, set-up, facilitate and oversee daily events and educational programs. Basic administrative, clerical, patient experience, computer skills required. Typically works Monday through Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM and some nights/weekends.
Responsibilities
Activity Coordinators are multi-faceted. They are part entertainment host, part entrepreneur, part PR and have a high affinity for providing exceptional and personalized experiences to members (patients) that are 65 years old. They are the life of any party! They can woo their audiences with their boundless energy, outgoing personality and enthusiasm for everything that they do! This role supports retention efforts by maintaining current membership but will also be responsible for bringing in new members to the Center. In addition, they will abide by CenterWell policies, procedures, and possess the ability to enforce policies and procedures with members and associates. Responsible for the safety of members and associates at all times.
CenterWell Activity Coordinators are self-starters that can stay motivated and have the ability to initiate, plan, coordinate, schedule and run the daily events of an Activity Center with minimal supervision from Leadership. These activities can include but are not limited to: Arts & Crafts, Bingo, Educational Programs (i.e. Fall Prevention, Tips & Tricks on using a Smartphone, etc.) Nutritional presentations, Chair Yoga, Zumba just to name a few. Activities and events should be available in a variety of formats and include group sizes from 1-145 people. Offerings should be diverse and considerate of the needs, abilities and interests of members.
Exceptional Presentation skills are required. Must have the ability to create professional presentations, command a room and hold your audience's attention using effective presentation techniques such as: emcee, engagement tactics (question & answer techniques, background music, etc.), using technology during your presentation (microphone, mirroring a presentation on to a projector or TV, etc.)
Responsible for the operational oversight of the Activity Center including quality assurance, ordering, budget, reports, maintaining inventory and equipment. Must possess exceptional organization skills to organize your day and to organize supplies needed for the daily operation of the Activity Center. This also includes maintaining inventory and shopping online or in-person for supplies that are necessary for the daily operation of the Activity Center. Also, responsible for documentation (waivers, sign-in sheets, photo releases, etc.)
Must be tech savvy and proficient in the use of a smartphone (iPhone) and smartphone applications as well as a PC computer, Microsoft Programs, Zoom, and capable of learning new technology and computer programs as needed (such as Genesys phone system or eCW). Many of these programs will be used to design a monthly calendar of activities and events.
Responsible for guiding and educating patients on Center policies and procedures. Must be able to handle difficult member situations, including complaints, and have the ability to deescalate and solve problems. Engage leadership when necessary and communicating gaps in service.
Collaborate, support and travel to other Activity Centers in the Orlando Market when necessary. Must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays on occasion.

Required Qualifications
Passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving patient experiences
Experience in a patient (or customer) facing role with structured and planned activities and events
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Maintain open and professional communication skills (written and oral)
Ability to communicate articulately with individuals at all levels of the organization and vendors
Comfortable facilitating activities and events and speaking on a microphone
Exceptional time management and organizational skills
Strong Organizational Skills and attention to detail
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, Word
Proficient in using a smartphone (iPhone) and apps
Professional Appearance
Valid Driver's License and dependable transportation
Must be able to push, pull and lift up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis and stand for long periods of time
Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Degree in a Health related field, including social services or a Degree in a Recreation related field
Previous work with vulnerable adults or the geriatric population
Experience in Community health outreach programs
Nutrition knowledge
2-3 years minimum experience as a Personal Trainer and/or performing wellness and recreational activities and events
2-3 years minimum experience as an Entertainment or Recreational Host or Camp Counselor
Health Plan experience, including Medicare/Medicaid
Electronic Medical Record knowledge/experience (eCW)
