SPED PARALEGAL
Location: Irving
Walsh Gallegos Treviño Kyle & Robinson P.C., a mid-size law firm with offices in Texas and New Mexico, is seeking a Paralegal for its Irving office to support the high-volume special education practice that serves clients throughout Texas.
Critical skills include e-filing at all levels, case management, research and the ability to handle a varied docket. Candidates must possess the necessary skills to coordinate with special education team by providing assistance such as scheduling, drafting correspondence, pleadings and other legal documents, and preparing documents for trial. Candidates should possess a minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a paralegal. Extensive experience in litigation matters is a plus. Hours are 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. M-F.
Candidates must have excellent organizational, word processing, professional-level people skills, and be able to handle multiple priorities and deadlines with great focus in an efficient and effective manner. Excellent proofing, editing and writing/communication skills are a must, as well as high proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Legal Assistant/Paralegal - Litigation
Location: San Antonio
Walsh Gallegos Treviño Kyle & Robinson P.C., a mid-size law firm with a multi-state practice, is seeking a Legal Assistant/Paralegal for its San Antonio office to support attorneys primarily in litigation, including managing the litigation discovery process, document collection and preservation, document review, document production tasks, and maintaining case filing and discovery databases.
Critical skills include e-filing at all levels, case management, research and the ability to handle a varied docket. Experience with an insurance defense docket is a plus. Candidates must possess the skills to coordinate with litigation team providing assistance such as scheduling, drafting discovery, assisting with pleadings, motions and briefs, drafting litigation status reports, drafting correspondence, preparing documents for trial and filing documents electronically. Candidates should possess 5 years of experience as a paralegal with extensive experience in litigation matters in both Federal and State court. Appellate experience is a plus. Must have excellent organizational, word processing, and people skills and be able to handle multiple priorities. Excellent proofing, editing and writing skills are a must. Candidates should be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Candidates who are selected for an interview may be tested on their knowledge and skills in Microsoft Office Suite. We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Legal Assistant in our Houston office to support our Special Education practice. This position supports attorneys in managing administrative/clerical work and litigation support. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to calendar management; assisting with the preparation, filing and services of pleadings; processing expense reimbursements; coordinating the collection, organization, review and production of documents; maintaining case filing and databases; and client communications.
Candidates should possess 3 years of substantive experience as legal assistant. Experience in litigation support is a plus. Hours are 8:15 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. M-F. Candidates must have excellent communication, organizational, word processing, and people skills. ACCOUNTING CLERK
Location: Austin

We have an excellent opportunity in our Austin office for an Accounting Clerk. Responsibilities include: working with accounting/billing support staff to prepare and process weekly payables including report generation, data entry, filing, assisting with deposits, assisting with month-end closing and reports, including journal entries, and other administrative duties as assigned. This position also assists with opening new matters and monthly pre-bill reviews and corrections.
Qualified candidates must:
Be able to communicate and interact with staff, attorneys & clients to resolve issues
Be able to multi-task and set priorities while meeting deadlines
Have strong analytical skills
Have intermediate Excel skills to prepare accounting spreadsheets
Have excellent PC knowledge, proficiency including accounting and Microsoft Office applications
Be flexible, detail-oriented, and well organized
Be able to work independently and as a team player
Candidates must have a good understanding of bookkeeping principles and experience in an office environment

We are seeking a Legal Secretary for our San Antonio office to support 3 attorneys that serve clients throughout Texas. The job responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to, the following:
Prepare correspondence, contracts, memoranda and other documents in draft and in final form.
Set up, maintain, and ensure that files are kept current, including classifying, arranging files, filing, and storing information in both electronic and hard copy format.
Handle a large volume of electronic and paper filing.
Monitor, prioritize, organize, and facilitate daily workflow in order to meet project deadlines. This includes all administrative tasks including monitoring e-mail, scheduling meetings, calendar management, processing expense reimbursements, etc.
Open new matters as requested and arrange for conflicts checks.
Review and revise attorney(s) time records.
Experience with education, contracts, administrative hearings, and/or litigation matters and processes is a plus.
Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Candidates should possess the following:
Exceptionally strong organizational skills and work ethic in delivering client products in a timely and organized manner.
Excellent verbal and written communication with attorneys, clients, counsel and colleagues.
Knowledge of business English, spelling, punctuation, grammar and basic legal terminology.
Knowledge of law office practices and procedures.

The position calls for an attorney who can successfully work to defend public schools and other governmental entities on issues involving special education/disability rights litigation as well as provide advice and consultation to public schools in the area of special education/disability rights. Attention to detail and excellent research and writing skills are required. Public speaking experience, strong interpersonal skills, IDEA due process proceeding and litigation experience, State and OCR Complaint experience, and experience with school districts or other governmental entities are preferred. A background in special education or education is a plus, as is experience representing governmental entities in federal litigation.
