The Health Compliance team serves as the compliance advisor and partner to Best Buy Health and other teams within Best Buy that help advance the health strategy. This role provides direct support to a full range of strategic initiatives in Best Buy Health. The person serving in this role will have a variety of duties including: assisting the leader of the team to identify, prioritize, and mitigate associated risks; make recommendations to the Health Compliance leader; and assist in escalating actionable risks to the appropriate stakeholders. The person in this role serves as a subject matter expert on health compliance with a focus on Best Buy’s role as a service provider to the healthcare industry. Areas of focus would include information security, privacy, business resiliency, product safety, and insurance.
This role requires someone with experience in the healthcare industry who is action-oriented, possesses strong communication skills, navigates ambiguity with confidence, and builds trusting relationships. This role would be well-served by someone who can work with a start-up mentality
and appreciates the challenge of balancing a broad range of projects and topics. This role would be well-aligned for a risk-conscious individual with the ability to connect to business objectives.
The person serving in this role will:
Serve as a risk consultant to, and liaison for, Best Buy Health to the Legal and Enterprise Risk & Compliance teams;
Provide information to internal partners and vendors about a portfolio of risks, including information security, privacy, business resiliency, compliance, and insurance;
Work to maintain strong relationships with cross-functional teams;
Develop and implement compliance processes, including the creation or editing of company policy documents;
Other roles and responsibilities may include maintain strong relationships with cross-functional teams inside Risk & Legal, Best Buy Health, and Best Buy as a whole; and assist in due diligence
Basic Requirements (You must meet or exceed all basic requirements to be eligible)
Bachelor’s degree or 7 years’ equivalent experience
5 years of experience in related fields, including but not limited to performing risk assessments, applying risk-based approach to projects, building/implementing processes, creating/reviewing company policies
1 year experience in the healthcare sector, particularly in the implementation or development of compliance program/program activities
Preferred knowledge and skills:
Law degree or paralegal experience
2 years of experience performing risk assessments or audits
2 years of experience using eGRC tools
2 years of experience with information security controls and the design and testing of security measures
