You will work as part of the highly successful Clinical skills team, who have a reputation for quality and support within the University, amongst students and the wider sector. The Clinical skills resource centre (CSRC) at Peninsula Medical School supports undergraduate Medical, Dentistry, Bio-medical Sciences, Physician Associate and Radiography programmes. The CSRC is looking to recruit an administration assistant to work alongside the academic and technical teams in delivering first class learning experiences for our students. The CSRC is a busy learning environment which has an outstanding reputation for quality and student centredness. You will work alongside a dedicated team to maintain our reputation and support delivery of all of our activities. You will work on the department reception desk and provide front of house support in the first instance, welcoming all who come to CSRC including students, staff, patients and visitors. You will liaise with students and staff on a daily basis and help co-ordinate activities within the department. The role will include administrative duties related to curricula delivery and providing administrative support for the senior team, commensurate with the role grade. You should have prior experience of working front of house or being customer facing in previous roles. You will require effective inter-personal skills and be willing to communicate with students, academic staff, clinical staff and others in the performance of your day to day duties. The work requires effective time management skills and IT skills, including experience with common Microsoft Office software. The core clinical skills team consists of 8 tutors and 5 technician staff. The administration assistant role sits within the technical team for line management but the role will encompass work and liaison with a broad range of colleagues, internal and external to the clinical skills department. You must be able to demonstrate: Successful experience of customer facing role(s) Effective time management skills Effective self-management skills Routine administration skills Effective inter-personal skills Clear communication, verbal and written Numeracy and literacy at least to a secondary education level (or demonstrable equivalent experience Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (including Outlook, excel, word) The post will be based at the Clinical Skills Resource Centre, John Bull Building, Plymouth Science Park, Derriford.
