The firm has an opening for a full-time experienced litigation Legal Assistant in its Intellectual Property Department in the Portland office.
This position requires 5 years of experience with litigation, strong administrative skills, strong computer skills, and a high level of organization and accuracy with attention to detail. The successful candidate will be able to turn work around quickly, possess strong oral and written communication skills, and be a self-starter who enjoys a fast-paced, team environment.
Essential Duties:
Create shell documents and pleadings via Payne Forms, Word styles and numbering.
Prepare documents for filing in Federal Court, throughout the United States.
Read and interpret court rules (Federal, Appellate, and various local rules) to conform filings for jurisdictional accuracy.
Quote and cite check documents; and prepare tables of authority.
Prepare documents for filing in the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.
Pull and prepare documents for notebooks.
Process legal documents for distribution and electronic storage.
Travel arrangements and scheduling.
Run conflicts checks and set up new clients and matters.
Proofread various types of documents.
Perform administrative work including filing, typing, and special projects.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Experience and Competencies:
Knowledge of Federal and Oregon State Court.
Ability to manage multiple projects, activities and tasks simultaneously.
High level of organizational skills.
Highly developed verbal and written communications.
Excellent time management skills.
Preferred Computer Skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint

Required Education and Experience:
Minimum of five years’ of Legal Assistant/Secretarial experience.
A high school diploma or GED.
Paralegal certificate preferred.
