\u003cp\u003eESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: \u003cbr /\u003e1.\u0026nbsp;Prepares legal documents and/or general correspondence from handwritten, dictation (either taped or oral), boilerplate or printed copy. Prepares court documents for service to opposing parties and filing documents in the office of the clerk of the court.\u003cbr /\u003e2.\u0026nbsp;Drafts/writes routine business letters as requested.\u003cbr /\u003e3.\u0026nbsp; May be required to maintain form files.\u003cbr /\u003e4.\u0026nbsp;Maintains electronic filing in document management system, i.e., Netdocs.\u003cbr /\u003e5.\u0026nbsp;Maintains contacts for each attorney including Outlook and InterAction as appropriate.\u003cbr /\u003e6.\u0026nbsp;May be required to maintain the daily calendar of each attorney (i.e., scheduling appointments, meetings and travel arrangements).\u003cbr /\u003e7.\u0026nbsp;May be required to answer telephone lines for assigned attorneys, or on a rotation basis for the office, and take messages. May be asked to place telephone calls more frequently for particular attorneys and keep a master telephone list to log all calls for coding purposes.\u003cbr /\u003e8.\u0026nbsp;May be required to field client-related questions to other attorneys in absence of primary attorney.\u003cbr /\u003e9.\u0026nbsp;Must maintain a good working rapport with clients which requires discretion and judgment.\u003cbr /\u003e10.\u0026nbsp;May be required to enter, review and revise electronic attorneys\u0026rsquo; timesheets and electronic expense reports.\u003cbr /\u003e11.\u0026nbsp;May be required to review and revise client prebills as generated by the Accounting Department.\u003cbr /\u003e12.\u0026nbsp;Coordinates with the Calendar Department to docket court and other related deadlines and due dates.\u003cbr /\u003e13.\u0026nbsp;Handles incoming and outgoing mail.\u003cbr /\u003e14.\u0026nbsp;May be asked to verify citations and perform some library research.\u003cbr /\u003e15.\u0026nbsp;Sends faxes, scan documents and may copy lengthy projects as needed.\u003cbr /\u003e16.\u0026nbsp;Works in a collaborative fashion and is a team player with attorneys and staff.\u003cbr /\u003e17.\u0026nbsp;Other duties may be assigned.\u003cbr /\u003e18.\u0026nbsp;Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.\u003c/p\u003e

\u003cli\u003eMust have\u0026nbsp;ten plus year\u0026rsquo;s secretarial litigation experience in a law firm environment.\u003c/li\u003e
\u003cli\u003eMust have working knowledge of the applicable state and federal judicial system, in particular agency procedures (i.e., NLRB, EEOC, etc.).\u003c/li\u003e
\u003cli\u003eMust have strong knowledge of MS Word and Outlook.\u003c/li\u003e
\u003cli\u003eAbility to read and write in order to perform routine office correspondence and forms, perform non-complex arithmetic calculations when verifying calculations on forms and documents and when maintaining records and files at a level normally acquired through high school or the equivalent.\u003c/li\u003e
\u003cli\u003eAbility to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints.\u003c/li\u003e
\u003cli\u003eAbility to proofread typed material for grammatical, typographical, spelling errors and legal citations.\u003c/li\u003e
\u003cli\u003eAbility to type standard memoranda and correspondence and the like from rough draft at a level of 70 WPM as normally acquired through completion of the course work in touch typing which can be obtained in high school or an equivalent setting.\u003c/li\u003e
\u003cli\u003eInterpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate and follow the instruction effectively from a diverse group of client attorneys and staff and provide information with ordinary courtesy and tact.\u003c/li\u003e
\u003cli\u003eWork occasionally requires a high level of mental effort and strain when performing a high volume of administrative tasks and performing other essential duties.\u003c/li\u003e
\u003cli\u003eAbility to retrieve and distribute files, written documents or office supplies weighing up to 25 pounds and ability to retrieve and replace objects from shelves of up to 8 feet high.\u003c/li\u003e
\u003cli\u003eAbility to operate standard office equipment, including personal computer, copier, multi function printers, facsimile, and telephone.\u003c/li\u003e
