Senior Paralegal – Employment LawThis position supports Tyson’s in-house employment and labor lawyers with litigation management, dispute resolution, employment and labor regulatory issues, and advice and counsel. The candidate must have knowledge of general legal and business concepts, practices and procedures and be able to apply this knowledge in the form of legal support and analysis. This position works under the general supervision of in-house attorneys and must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with internal business managers, government officials, and outside lawyers.REQUIREMENTS:Education: Requires one of the following:
Paralegal degree from an ABA-certified degree program
Bachelor’s degree in any field and completion of a paralegal certificate program within 1 year of entry to position
Exam-based certification from the National Association of Legal Assistants NALA or from National Certification of Paralegal Associations NFPA .
Experience: 5 years of verifiable paralegal or comparable experience.Computer Skills: Requires electronic research skills advanced word processing skills including experience in Word and intermediate computer skills that may include utilizing advanced functions in spreadsheets and legal department management databases.Special Skills: Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. A talent for project management is a plus. A passion for helping people, problem solving, and teamwork.Supervisory: No direct reports.Travel: Some limited travel may be required, but not anticipated to be more than 1-5 trips per year.This is a Management Non-Exempt position which means that it is a management position that is paid hourly.This position does not offer reimbursement for interview expenses and/or relocation assistance.
