Description
Humana Healthy Horizons in Louisiana is seeking an Administrative Assistant 2 who will follow established procedures and guidelines to provide timely and effective administrative support to an office, business unit, department, or other organization. The duties include answering telephones, screening calls, and taking messages so callers/visitors are attended to promptly, courteously, and accurately. The Administrative Assistant 2 performs varied activities and moderately complex administrative/operational/customer support assignments. This role typically works on semi-routine assignments.
Responsibilities
The Administrative Assistant 2 transcribes, types, formats, and proofreads a variety of material (e.g., correspondence, invoices, contracts, meeting minutes, reports, speeches, and presentations) using word processing, presentation, graphics and spreadsheet software.
Coordinates internal and external meetings which may involve scheduling meeting times, making travel arrangements for attendees, and ensuring that various meeting amenities are available.
Manages the appointments and schedules of applicable staff.
Documents meeting minutes.
Uses office equipment such as photocopiers, faxes, and printers.
Distributes incoming mail, prepares outgoing mail, files documents and maintains office supplies or other inventory.
Decisions are typically focus on interpretation of area/department policy and methods for completing assignments.
Works within defined parameters to identify work expectations and quality standards, but has some latitude over prioritization/timing, and works under minimal direction.
Follows standard policies/practices that allow for some opportunity for interpretation/deviation and/or independent discretion.
Required Qualifications
Two (2) or more years of experience providing administrative to leadership teams.
Must live in a commutable distance to Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
Basic understanding of Microsoft Excel.
Ability to balance multiple or competing priorities.
Strong attention to detail and capacity to maintain confidentiality.
Strong organizational skills and communication skills, verbal and written.
Must have a separate room with a locked door that can be used as a home office, to ensure you have absolute and continuous privacy while you work.
Must have the ability to provide a high-speed DSL or cable modem for a home office (Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role). A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 10x1 (10mbs download x 1mbs upload) is required.
For this job, associates are required to be fully COVID vaccinated or undergo weekly COVID testing and wear a face covering while at work. The weekly testing will need to be done through an approved Humana vendor, and unvaccinated associates should follow all social distancing and masking protocols if they are required to come into a Humana facility or work outside of their home. Preferred Qualifications
Associates or Bachelor's Degree.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Access.
Experience with Concur and/or similar expense and travel management systems.
Previous experience providing administrative support to leadership teams in a healthcare setting.
Experience with internet research and proof-reading/editing.
Additional Information
Workstyle:
Hybrid Office
- 3 - 4 days/week in Humana's Baton Rouge, Louisiana location and 1 - 2/days per week remote. Leadership will discuss the frequency.
Work Days/Hours:
Monday - Friday; 8:00am - 5:00pm
Interview Format
