Karr Tuttle Campbell, a Northwest law firm founded in 1904, seeks an experienced Trust & Estates paralegal to join our team-oriented administrative staff.
Job Description:
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of probate paralegal experience. Candidate must have a great attitude, will be a team player, have a proactive work ethic, excellent oral and written communication skills, will be proficient in drafting, proof-reading, and data entry, and will be detail oriented. Candidate should be familiar with a broad range of trust and estates practice. This position is hybrid/remote.
Essential Duties will Include:
Probate / Post-Mortem Administration: Work with multiple attorneys and staff to handle all aspects of probate and post-mortem trust administration from initiation to completion including:
Draft probate pleadings and trust notices and proofread for accuracy.
E-file documents with court.
Develop estate inventory.
Draft distribution documents including preparation and recording of deeds and related documents.
Prepare estate and trust accountings.
Work directly and communicate well with clients and clients’ advisors.
Have working knowledge of local and state court rules.
Track billable and non-billable hours.
Knowledge/Experience:
Strong knowledge of estate and trust administration and general estate planning concepts is preferred. Ability to work collaboratively and independently, while being proactive in prioritizing multiple projects to meet deadlines. Ability to confidently perform court filings and county recordings. Knowledge of probate statutes and court rules, including ability to research. Must demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, maintaining client confidences and protecting operations by safeguarding private information.
Skills:
Advanced word processing/computer skills utilizing a variety of software programs including, but not limited to, MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, Adobe and Mimecast. Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills, including grammar, spelling and punctuation, attention to detail and follow-through skills. Should also be highly organized and able to successfully multi-task and meet set deadlines. Strong customer service, ability to be flexible and work effectively as part of a team is required.
