This is a fixed term post for a Senior Research Administrator within the Applied Parkinson’s Research Group (APRG). The post is available immediately until 30th June 2024 Based in the University of Plymouth’s Northern Campus (Plymouth Science Park), you will provide administrative assistance for the APRG and will predominantly support the Edward J Safra ‘Accelerating Clinical Trials for Parkinson’s Disease’ (EJS ACT-PD) project. EJS ACT-PD aims to fundamentally change the way we evaluate Disease Modifying Therapies (DMTs) in Parkinson’s disease, with the ultimate goal of accelerating the identification and introduction of DMT’s into clinical care. Under the guidance of the both the manager at the University of Plymouth (UoP) and the Project Manager at University College London (UCL), you will be primarily responsible for supporting three working groups under the UoP remit: Infrastructure, Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) and Trial Design. You will be actively involved in coordinating and supporting regular meetings, (including agenda setting and taking minutes), internal and external communications, processing financial transactions as well as other administrative support for the Group. You will have a counterpart research administrator based at UCL and both will be required to cover each other’s work during any absence such as leave or sickness. You should have recent complex administrative experience, and have excellent IT skills. You will manage your own workload, seeking guidance and advice where necessary from the Research Group Manager and the team. You must be well organised, possess strong communication skills. Experience of working in, or with, the National Health Service (NHS), health administration or a research environment is essential. You will be self-directed with excellent administrative skills, capable of working collaboratively but also independently. The majority of the meetings are undertaken online. A flexible attitude to working hours is required on occasion to facilitate events or meetings.
