Position Purpose

Where will you fit in --

Shell Deer Park Chemicals is located in the City of Deer Park, TX. It produces three billion lbs/year of chemicals products and has 450 Shell employees.

The Administrative Assistant is part of the Shell Deer Park Chemicals Team, and its primary focus is to support members and departments of the Site Leadership Team.

What is the role --

Administrative assistant duties and responsibilities include providing administrative support to the Site Leadership Team. The primary support will be provided to either the MTAC Manager or the Technology & Engineering Manager. Job duties can vary widely, not just from job to job, but from day to day.

Effectively manage schedule/diary/calendar and expenses of Manager.

Work effectively with other assistants in the organization.

Monitoring and fielding phone calls, e-mails, faxes, reports, distribution lists.

Travel arrangements for manager and support for staff in flight bookings, transfer bookings, hotel reservations, office arrangements, relevant printouts, car rental service, international travel bookings.

Assisting in the organizing and coordinating events in/outside Shell offices (stakeholder events and meetings, team building, conferences, workshops, meetings, lunches, trainings, communication sessions, video conferencing, social events).

Greeting & escorting the visitor(s) as needed.

Office accommodation (organizing and preparing for visitors to Shell Deer Park Chemicals.

This role will manage confidential and time-sensitive material. This requires delivering accurate and high-quality work on time. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected

HSSE Responsibilities:

Comply with Shell Deer Park Chemicals HSSE rules & regulations and procedures

Report / Intervene any unsafe behavior or unsafe operating condition observed

Skills & Requirements

What we need from you –

Must have legal authorization to work in the US full-time for anyone other than current employer

High School Diploma or GED is required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

At least five (5) years of relevant experience at a manufacturing site preferred.

Strong organizational skills

Multitasking abilities to meet numerous deadlines while still supporting day-to-day duties

Ability to work well under pressure and fast-paced environment

Effective communication skills (oral and written)

Ability to be a strong team player and build relationships across a diverse workforce

Demonstrates a passion for helping others succeed in the organization

Exceptional proactive customer service skills

Document management skills and intermediate computer skills (MS Teams, excel, ppt, SharePoint)
