Job Description:
The successful candidate for this position will be able to provide support in all aspects of Human Resource Administration. Assist as a team member in the efficient and professional functioning of the Human Resource Office.
Responsibilities Include:
Onboarding:
Welcomes and conducts on-boarding of SHU new hires (non-faculty); process new hire documents; offer letters, background check release forms and data entry in Ceridian HRIS.
Liaison to SHU Hiring Managers for Interview Exchange support; assist with requisition set -up process; posting of new positions and close out filled jobs, ensure job descriptions are correct and adequately completed.
Work in conjunction with Executive Director of Employee Education to run and manage the New Hire Welcome Program for all new employees.
Create, track, and evaluate effectiveness of the NHWP with Exec. Director. of Employee Education
HRIS Management:
Data entry in HRIS (Ceridian)-process high volume of new hires, promotions, terminations, personnel updates (employee personal data) and payroll changes as necessary
Manage Recruiting Module for all job requisitions, job postings, workflows, and process analyzation.
Assist Executive Director of HRIS with basic maintenance of Ceridian Dayforce system and change requests.
Offboarding:
Process unemployment paperwork for terminations
Liaise with payroll & Director of Employee Relations to manage last pay and vacation payouts
Process resignations through HRIS system, notify HR Office of said resignations
Manage separation checklist process for departing employees
Customer Service and Office Management:
Maintains employee confidence and protects university business operations by keeping HR information confidential
Greet visitors to HR and directs as appropriate
Provide back up support for answering multi-line phone for VP of HR and HR Exec Director; field all departmental phone inquiries
Point person for HR ordering of office supplies, implement HR ordering and invoicing via the university SHU Ebuy system.
UPS mailings, personnel file copying, filing, faxing
Miscellaneous:
Performs miscellaneous projects and responsibilities as requested.
All other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Knowledge and Skills Needed:
Education: Associates Degree required, Bachelor's Degree preferred in Human Resources or Business Administration
Must have high attention to detail and excellent organizational skills; ability to manage multiple requests and tasks
Strong customer service skills; excellent communication skills, both verbally and written
Computer Skills: Knowledge and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet Explorer, Ceridian a plus
Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing publications.
Other Skills: General knowledge of business environment; courtesy and confidentiality. Willingness to work as a Team, participate and learn.
