This position is full-time, Monday Friday. Employees are required to work our normal business hours of 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime or weekends.

Primary Responsibilities:
Responsible for providing patient-oriented service, answers incoming calls related to billing inquiries, including collect patient payments, establishing payment arrangements, and collect insurance data.
Escalates for additional review as necessary in a fast-paced, customer-oriented environment. Under the direction of the Supervisor of Customer Service.
Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with SSMH and Optum mission, values, and service standards.
Communicates directly with patients and/or families on the phone to answer billing inquiries, collect payment, establish payment arrangements, collect insurance or financial data
Utilizes computer systems to enter access or verify patient data in real-time ensuring accuracy and completeness of information
Verifies insurance coverage and reverifications as needed
Collects patient payments
Create payment plan
Responds to patient and caregivers inquiries related to routine and sensitive topics always in a compassionate and respectful manner
Maintains up-to-date knowledge of specific registration requirements for all areas

Required Qualifications:
High school diploma / GED (or higher) equivalent experience
1yr Customer Service experience such as hospital, office setting, customer service setting, or phone support
1 years of healthcare experience
Experience using EPIC software
Moderate proficiency with computer and Windows PC applications, which includes the ability to learn new and complex computer system applications
Ability to work full-time, Monday -Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Preferred Qualification:
1 years of advocacy and call center experience
Telecommuting Requirements:
Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

The salary range for California / Colorado / Connecticut / Nevada / New Jersey / New York / Washington / Rhode Island residents is $16.00 - $27.31.
