Coordinator, Sundance Ignite
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Coordinator, Sundance Ignite, is charged with providing administrative support and project coordination to the Ignite Department to ensure the program's success. The Sundance Ignite Program identifies and supports emerging filmmakers ages 18 to 25 and fosters fresh audiences for independent storytelling.
Working closely under the direction of the Senior Manager, Sundance Ignite, the Coordinator also participates in programmatic planning and development, including refinements to align program mission and operations with Institute-wide equity and racial justice initiatives. This full-time role is based out of our Los Angeles, California office, with regular opportunities to work from home. This position will also be required to work a flexible schedule and extended hours, including evenings and weekends, at key points throughout the year. Travel to work onsite at Sundance events or office locations may also be required.
Top priorities include but are not limited to…
• Coordinating Ignite Fellows programmatic activities including communicating between participants, advisors, and the Operations team on travel, scheduling, locations, and online and in-person set-up.
• Reviewing and providing feedback on current and alumni Fellow scripts, rough-cuts, and other submitted work and participating in the selection process.
• Updating and launching the program's online application, including building a timeline, communicating with applicants, managing screeners, requesting, collating, and gathering application materials.
• Routinely reviewing the program's website to maintain accurate information and updating accordingly.
• Writing, generating, editing, and updating program content, including newsletters, programmatic materials, the website, promotional brochures, reports, etc. and routing to appropriate staff for approval before distribution.
• Supporting planning and coordinating the Ignite ticket package processes and logistics for internal package allocations, including working with the pass and package office and additional internal stakeholders, online and offline.
• Supporting outreach for the Ignite ticket package among priority organizations and communities.
• Conducting research to identify unique and exciting talent to be supported by the initiative and coordinating outreach with a focus on support for historically marginalized communities, domestically and internationally.
• Tracking program metrics and assisting with analyzing applicant demographic information as directed.
• Tracking actuals for Ignite budget, processing invoices and expense reports as outlined by the Finance Department.
• Coordinating a full range of departmental administrative duties, including maintaining calendars and timelines, scheduling meetings, making travel arrangements, processing expense reports, and responding to general email inbox and communications with the public.
• Tracking projects, running reports, and maintaining up-to-date information including outreach lists, industry recommendations, and comprehensive contact lists in the department database.
You have the following direct or transferable skill sets:
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
• 2 years of administrative, nonprofit program coordination, or related experience.
• Experience reviewing proposals for creative works and participating in curatorial processes.
• Excellent organizational skills including strong attention to detail and accuracy in recording, tracking, and issuing information.
• Outstanding verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to work effectively with a wide variety of people.
• Ability to work independently.
• Working knowledge of and proficiency in Google Products.
• Ability to maintain confidential information.
