Description
The UM Administration Coordinator 2 contributes to administration of utilization management. The UM Administration Coordinator 2 performs varied activities and moderately complex administrative/operational/customer support assignments. Performs computations. Typically works on semi-routine assignments.
Responsibilities
Location: Remote
The Specialist contributes to the success of Humana's business strategy by collecting broad based information and gathering resources and data in order to arm the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) team with the tools necessary to enhance consumer engagement, choice, and trust. In this role you will:
Assist NICU Team with various clerical and administrative tasks as necessary
Process notifications, authorizations, and referrals not requiring clinical review
Appropriately route cases needing clinical follow-up to appropriate NICU RN
Accurately update cases with dates of service, corrected facility, MD, and diagnosis information.
Ensure members are picked up by NICU team in a timely manner
Verify whether Humana is the primary payer
Answer inbound calls
Make outbound phone calls to complete authorization process and communicate status
Participate in special projects as assigned by the NICU Manager
Role Essentials
High School Diploma
Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel
Skilled in web navigation
Working knowledge of computers, or a demonstrated technical aptitude and an ability to quickly learn new systems
Excellent written and verbal communications
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Must possess interpretive, intuitive and investigative skills
Ability to work independently with clear direction and as part of a team
Must have accessibility to high speed DSL or Cable modem for a home office (Satellite internet service is NOT allowed for this role); recommended speed is 10Mx1M
Role Desirables
Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare, Business, Finance or a related field
Familiarity with medical terminology and/or ICD-9 codes
Knowledge of NICU terminology, care concepts and unique characteristics of a premature infant
DSL Access or Cable Modem accessibility
Designated/ Secured work area to conduct business
Ability to work a flexible work schedule
