Are you a highly organized person who is able to work in a fast paced envir
onment with ease? Are you people-oriented with good listening skills? If so, we have the position for you! The Benefit Assistant will greet patients, gather information, provide clerical support by answering telephones, scheduling and registering patients. Must be motivated and able to work independently as well as function as a team player and know when to take initiative and direction. Experience using Windows based operating system, working within an Electronic Health Record system and familiarity in a healthcare or non-profit setting preferred. Identification and advocacy for individuals regarding eligibility of benefit programs, develop payment plans and assist clients in completing eligibility forms when unable to do so and no other assistance is available. Individual must possess courtesy when working with individuals and maintain confidentiality in accordance with the agencies policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of medical terminology, medical billing experience and familiarity with Medicare/Medicaid.
Education and Licensing Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent required. Some college and/or administrative focused training and 1 year experience in a healthcare setting preferred. Bilingual is a plus.
