We are seeking an experienced Trusts & Estates Paralegal focusing on estate settlement and trust administration in our Hartford office.
The individual will work closely with our attorneys in the settlement of estates and the administration of ongoing trusts.
In that capacity, the individual will have regular, direct contact with clients and beneficiaries.
In the area of estate settlement, the individual should have significant experience in the preparation and filing of probate documents from the preliminary filing paperwork to closing an estate, the marshaling and distributing of estate assets, and the preparation of federal and state estate tax returns, and fiduciary income tax returns.
In the area of trust administration, the individual should have significant experience in day-to-day operations of ongoing trusts, including the preparation and review of fiduciary accountings and fiduciary income tax returns.
A Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate is preferred.
A minimum of 7-10 years of trusts and estates experience is required.
Candidates should also be self-motivated, possess a client-service skillset and have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
The successful candidate will possess a strong mathematical aptitude, excellent verbal and written communication skills, solid organizational skills, and an attention to detail.
Candidates should be proficient in the MS Office Suite and comfortable using estate tax, income tax and estate and trust accounting programs.
Marketing & Communications Specialist
We have an exciting opportunity for a Marketing & Communications Specialist, resident in our Hartford office.
The Marketing & Communications Specialist helps to carry out several firm-wide and practice and industry specific marketing initiatives. The Marketing & Communications Specialist will have responsibility for the firm’s social media strategy including authoring and posting content regularly on social media channels, posting and cross posting content to the firm’s blogs, developing and distributing email marketing alerts and publications, making content edits and updates to the firm’s website, maintaining the firm’s CRM database, developing PowerPoint presentations and assisting with other marketing projects as needed.
A Bachelor’s degree is preferred in addition to 5-7 years of marketing, business development or professional services experience, preferably in a law firm.
The successful candidate must have a high degree of computer proficiency with programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with HubSpot or a comparable CRM system, Canva or Creative Suite a plus.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, attention to detail, strong time management and organizational skills required.
Marketing & Business Development Manager
We have an exciting opportunity for a Marketing & Business Development Manager, resident in our Hartford office.
The Marketing & Business Development Manager will assist the firm’s lawyers drive revenue through the support and facilitation of targeted marketing and business development activities, including strategy development for key practices and industries across the firm. The Marketing & Business Development Manager will serve as the point of contact for assigned leaders and teams and will be responsible for initiating, directing and providing business development and marketing support, providing strategic guidance and proactive recommendations for the development, implementation and management of business development and marketing plans, materials, communications and programs.
The Marketing & Business Development Manager will assist with identifying strategic marketing initiatives, cross-selling opportunities, research, RFP responses, client events, campaigns, alerts and other customized marketing materials.
A Bachelor's degree, preferably in marketing, communications, business, or related field. Advanced degree beneficial, but not required.
Five or more years of business development, marketing, or other relevant field preferably in legal or other professional services environment is required.
The successful candidate must possess excellent written and verbal communications skills, strong organizational skills, and a high degree of computer proficiency including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
