Canton High School
is seeking an exceptional and dynamic candidate to serve as the Main Office
Administrative Assistant
for the 2023-2024 school year and beyond.
The Administrative Assistant

JOB SUMMARY
The Main Office Administrative Assistant is responsible for maintaining a high level of organization in a busy school setting. This person will provide a wide variety of complex secretarial and administrative support in the major functional area of the school under the direction of the principal and assistant principals.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
(include but are not limited to) :
Provide strong administrative support of the school’s main office.
Establish and maintain effective and positive relationships with students, families, staff members, and the general public.
Support and maintain the school’s records and data in the Student Information System including; maintaining student demographic information, managing student and staff attendance, and overseeing the student discipline platform to enter and track disciplinary infractions and consequences.
Serve as an office receptionist; screening calls, warmly greeting and directing visitors, and referring inquiries as appropriate.
Maintain student attendance records and procedures, timesheets, and coordination of substitutes/class coverage.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure to complete and manage multiple tasks at one time.
Demonstrate proficiency in written and oral communication in a professional manner.
Maintain a variety of confidential files and records, compiling pertinent information and complying with all federal/state/district regulations.
Monitor a variety of processes (e.g. budget, expenditures, program activities, etc.) to ensure legal and/or administrative requirements are maintained.
Procure office supplies and materials within established budgetary procedures.
Serve as the primary point of contact for staff and community members seeking to meet with/speak to the assistant principals.
Support administrators by providing assistance with their administrative functions.
Assist administrative personnel (including administrative assistants) to ensure the timely completion of required tasks/activities.
Perform additional job-related duties and assume other responsibilities as designated by the Principal and/or Assistant Principals.
REPORTS TO: Building Principal and Assistant Principals
SUPERVISES: Not Applicable
WORK YEAR: 190 days
