Profile
Ice Miller LLP is looking for a part-time Events Coordinator to work in our Columbus office two days a week. The Events Specialist will be responsible for coordinating internal and external Firm events for the Columbus office from conception through execution. The employee must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment with time-sensitive materials and maintain strict confidentiality due to the nature of the position.
Essential Job Duties:
•Assist with planning internal and external Firm events from beginning to end
•Serve as the onsite point of contact for events to ensure logistics and programming are executed
•Liaise with administrative departments to understand what events are planned internally, including but not limited to, large Firm meetings, partner meetings, associate lunches, board meetings, practice group meetings, holiday parties, receptions, etc.
•Utilize the Firm’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database, InterAction, for client information, mailing lists, attendance records, etc. to drive event and client relationship efforts
•Liaise with the Sponsorships team to assist with sponsorship-related events
•Liaise across practice groups and administrative departments to maximize the effectiveness of Firm events by assisting with follow-up and post-event information
•Assist with the creation and distribution of audience-targeted communications
•Assist with projects across teams
Minimum Requirements:
•High School diploma required
•Junior or Senior level college students majoring in hospitality, marketing, communications, or related field preferred
•Understanding of roles, responsibilities, and initiatives of all internal administrative departments
•Understanding of the Firm’s strategic plan and Firm values on which it is based
•Strong technology skills and proficient with the Microsoft office suite and marketing platforms
•Ability to work independently and make suggestions to build efficiencies
•Contribute to an inclusive culture where everyone has opportunities to succeed
•Strong team orientation and ability to collaborate across departments and practice areas
•Excellent written communication skills with knowledge of grammar and AP style writing
•Eager to take initiative and be a self-starter
•Must be able to perform all essential duties
