Essential Job Duties:
The Librarian for Undergraduate Teaching & Learning manages the Libraries' course-based instruction program for undergraduate students and other novice researchers. To this end, they focus on instructional design, pedagogical innovation, and learning assessment. They serve as the Libraries' liaison to the First Year Writing Program, Introduction to Public Speaking, and other first year academic programs. In collaboration with Libraries colleagues, the position develops and shares knowledge of pedagogical best practices and educational technologies. They facilitate the sharing of instructional resources and expertise across Libraries departments. With colleagues, the incumbent contributes to the development of high-quality and innovative instructional resources and online learning objects (videos, interactive tutorials, and course management software integrations). This position supervises one University Library Specialist. As a member of the Libraries' Ask Us team, the incumbent serves as an Ask Us Service Manager, facilitating the use of library spaces and services and providing support and reference assistance at the Ask Us center and in the virtual environment. The position participates in library planning and serves on library-wide committees, task forces, and teams. Librarians are expected to be active professionally and to contribute to developments in the field. This position reports to the Associate Head, Learning Spaces & Services.
Minimum Experience/Education:
ALA-accredited MLS or MIS, or equivalent advanced degree.

Relevant professional experience, such as experience teaching or training
Demonstrated ability to explore and incorporate pedagogical innovation into teaching and instruction
Supervisory experience or history of successful mentorship
Demonstrated record of engagement with a user community and commitment to creative, high-quality services
Demonstrated commitment to fostering an environment of equity, diversity, and inclusion
Ability to communicate clearly and knowledgeably
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Evidence of ability for ongoing professional development and contribution
