The Receptionist position is a non-aligned, non-exempt/hourly position that will report to the Executive Assistant to the Superintendent. The Receptionist will provide support to all the operations of the district office through efficient, effective, and confidential assistance to the Executive Assistant.
The Essential Functions of this position include:
Perform primary reception and telephone duties in the district office
Assists the Executive Assistant as needed
Uses discretion in discussing school affairs and maintains a high level of confidentiality
Plans procedures for accomplishing administrative support tasks
Maintains orderly filing system, paper, and electronic
Performs routine office functions
Performs other tasks and duties in support of the Administration of the School District as appropriate
Assists in the daily operations of the Central Office
Answers the main phone lines and routes inquiries and complaints, transferring as needed
Greet all guests and direct as needed
Serves as a liaison for email and general correspondence, routing to the proper contact
Receives and distributes U.S. mail, FedEx, UPS, and office supply delivers
Schedules the 1G Conference Room
Orders supplies/paper as needed
Supports the Executive Assistant with other duties as assigned
Physical Demands
Possess visual
acuity and stamina to work at a computer for a significant portion of the day
Possess strength and stamina to be able to remain in a stationary position for up to 90 minutes at a time throughout the workday
Occasional moving from place to place within the office setting and other district buildings, light lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, twisting, bending, or other limited physical activities
Demonstrate effective communication skills and ability to give and receive information through speaking and listening
Environmental Working Conditions
The work environment is a regular office air-conditioned building
Occasional exposure to other environments – schools, public buildings, storage facilities, warehouses, and retail business
Noise level moderate with occasional exposure to loud noise
Ability to maintain proper decorum
The required education and experience for this position include:
Education
Minimum Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Preferred: Associate or Bachelor’s Degree
Experience:
Minimum Required: 2 years of increasingly responsible administrative support work
Preferred: 3-5 years of office administrative experience
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:
Working knowledge:
Sufficient familiarity with the subject to know basic principles and terminology and to understand and solve simple problems.
General knowledge
Sufficient knowledge of a field to perform most work in normal situations. The work calls for comprehension of standard situations and includes knowledge of most of the significant aspects of the subject.
Thorough knowledge:
Advanced knowledge of the subject matter. The work calls for sufficient comprehension of the subject area to solve unusual as well as common work problems, to be able to advise on technical matters and to serve as a resource on the subject for others in the organization.
Comprehensive knowledge :
Requires complete mastery and understanding of the subject. This term should be used sparingly and only for unusually exacting or responsible positions required to originate hypotheses, concepts, or approaches.
Terms of Employment:
July 1, 2022, to June 30, 2023, for 17 hours per week in the afternoons
