Global Management Services, LLC (GMS) is seeking a General Clerk at JBER. Responsible for performing daily office tasks such as filing, recording, maintaining records, copying, and other similar duties using a computer terminal, and other word processors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs general clerical and administrative tasks; composes correspondence, updates and maintains records.
Answer multi line phones in a professional and courteous manner.
Perform basic review of documents for accuracy and conformity to established standards.
Assists other personnel with special projects as assigned by supervisor.
May review lower level administrative employees' work for accuracy.
Requires the ability to organize and/or coordinate work efficiently and set priorities.
Comply with regulations as applicable to the contract, site, and work center.
Database software experience preferred.
NON - ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Cross train with other clerical personnel to provide coverage as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements :
Required:
High School Diploma or GED.
Must have two (2) years’ experience in clerical duties and administrative support functions.
Type/enter data at a minimum of thirty-five (35) words per minute.
Experience with interpreting instructions, technical manuals and/or directives necessary for the accomplishment of job assignment.
Must meet citizenship requirements to work in the United States.
Obtain an interim clearance prior to starting.
Must have a valid driver's license with NO major infractions.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must have working knowledge of computers, typewriters, and other office equipment
Ability to write routine reports and business correspondence.
Ability to keyboard 35 wpm, operate a 10-key calculator; word processing and spreadsheet experience required.
Must communicate effectively with customers, fellow employees and government personnel.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel.
Must have working knowledge of calculators, preparing/filing of written documents.
Work harmoniously with other employees promoting teamwork and cooperation.
Ability to work in fast paced and compliance driven environment.
Ability to take initiative to ask questions and/or voice concerns in order to clarify task goals prior to completing work tasks.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to follow directions.

Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, walking or standing for prolonged periods of time; working requirements are a combination of maintenance shop activities which require lifting, handling or moving up to 45 lbs and office settings for data entry and reporting. Proper wearing of Personal Protective Equipment is essential along with hearing protection when required while in warehouse.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

Job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse and multi-line telephone system. Walking and climbing may be required at work sites. The work environment involves risks or discomforts that require specific safety precautions typical of such places as vehicle and maintenance shop environments.

As a condition of employment, will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results to obtain access to a military installation. Must have reliable transportation to/from work and between office locations.
